SENHENG “Love Giving Love Christmas Contest” Prize Giving Ceremony

KUALA LUMPUR, 7 APRIL 2015 – A total of 20 Top Spenders walked away with different types of attractive prizes in the “Love Giving∙ Love Christmas Spend & Win Contest”. The contest was in collaboration with Panasonic, AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad and Hong Leong Bank, last from 1 November till 31 December 2014. This contest was opened to all PlusOne members who spent RM999 and above in a single receipt at any Senheng outlets or senQ Digital Station nationwide.

Prizes are divided into 5 categories, Grand Prize – A pair of return flight tickets to Taiwan; First Prize – 10kg Panasonic Washing Machine; Second Prize – 1HP Panasonic air Conditioner; Third Prize – 296L Panasonic Refrigerator; and Consolation Prize – Limited Edition of “The Crossing” Cruise Ship Model.

Among 20 winners, there are 6 winners from Johor; 5 winners from Selangor, 2 winners from Perak and Sabah respectively; 1 winner from Sarawak, Pahang, Penang, Kelantan, Kuala Lumpur respectively. By age, 2 of them aged 20-29 years old, another 5 of them aged 30-39, 7of them aged 40-49 years old and lastly 6 of them aged 50 years old and above.

The company received enormous response for the contest, garnering more than RM197 million. Panasonic being one of the strategic partners benefited with total sales of RM 21 million, AEON with RM 28 million of sales revenue, and Hong Leong Bank with around RM 10 million of sales revenue.

We Love, We Care Senheng CSR Project

Senheng is proud to introduce a brand new nationwide project – “We Love, We Care”. In this project, Senheng is working closely with the villagers that are located in Sarawak. These villagers are consistently producing unique hand-made crafts from several types of our natural resources as their main source of income for their living. Senheng aims to promote and encourage fellow Malaysians to support the hand-made crafts while we could also help these villagers to upgrade their standard of living by purchasing their hand-made crafts.

Mr Keruka anak Tubeng came from a village named Rumah Rabong nanga stra Bintangor that is located in rural Sarawak. With a monthly income of below RM1000 as a skilled worker, Mr Keruka has to raise 5 children together with his wife. Every day, Mr Keruka works with 9 of his workers, to create 36 “senduk” (Wooden Rice Paddle) and each of the worker will need an hour to create 1 “Alas Pemotong” (Cutting/Chopping Board). Despite being able to create all these goods, Mr Keruka is unable to get enough buyers to turn their hard work into income. Mr Keruka faces difficulty in sending his children to school to get a formal education due to his low income.

Mr Keruka found hope when Senheng’s Managing Director, Mr KH Lim approached him and promised him to purchase however many quantities that Mr Keruka and his team may produce to offer a better way to help his family. With this promise, Mr Keruka could secure better opportunities for his children to go to school and obtain the education that they deserve. As this program expands and touch more families, we believe that together we could help these poor villagers by giving them the opportunity that they deserve and their children an equal chance.

There are 3 major hand-made crafts that the villagers produce; the wooden rice paddle that is made from Kayu Menggeris, and the wooden cutting/chopping board which is made up from Kayu Keranji and comes in 2 different shapes. These products are well-known for its firm and durable properties due to the wood that is used to produce it.

納吉親自宣布‧熊貓命名“靚靚"“興興

(吉隆坡25日訊)首相拿督斯里納吉親自宣佈,熊貓“鳳儀”及“福娃”的新名字分別為“靚靚”(發音Liang Liang)和“興興”。

首相也宣佈,從6月28日開始,熊貓館免費給孩童、孤兒、殘障人士和樂齡人士參觀,為期30天。

他今日在宣佈馬華和民政重返內閣後,率領眾內閣成員浩浩蕩蕩前往動物園為熊貓館主持開幕。

開幕典禮也別開生面,在裝飾成中國風建築物的臨時搭建禮堂,還有鑼鼓迎賓,約1千名嘉賓共襄盛舉。

與會嘉賓包括首相夫人拿汀斯里羅斯瑪、中國駐馬大使黃惠康、天然資源及環境部長拿督斯里巴拉尼威、衛生部長拿督斯里蘇巴馬廉、內政部長拿督斯里阿末扎希等。

熊貓名字小注解

靚在字典里有兩個讀音,可以讀作“Jing”(第四音),或者“Liang”(第四音)。納吉在宣佈鳳儀的新名字時,以“Liang Liang”稱呼她。

根據字典,“靚(jing)”的意思是妝飾、打扮;“靚(liang)”有漂亮,好看的意思。

常青集團贊助熊貓徵名比賽的獎品,常青集團執行主席兼星洲日報社長丹斯里張曉卿爵士偕同Subur Tiasa控股有限公司集團董事經理拿督張瑩、經理戴慧然也參與其盛。

其他贊助商新興電器(吉隆坡有限公司)董事經理林金興指出,該公司捐助50萬給予熊貓館,以促進熊貓旅遊發展以及帶動親子活動。

“配合馬中建交40週年以及熊貓抵馬,買新興電器超過1千令吉,送一隻熊貓娃娃,從6月1日至8月31日。”

他說,該公司也於10月杪帶50名幸運顧客遊成都熊貓之鄉。

早上9時至下午5時
反應熱或延長開放

配合馬中建交40週年紀念,我國於5月21日迎來兩位來自中國的“熊貓外交特使”,展現馬中友誼。

這對熊貓抵馬後接受隔離觀察,並且於27日對外開放,每日開放時間為早上9時至下午5時,若反應熱烈,園方將考慮將開放時間延長至下午6時。

熊貓館的收費是成人票價20令吉,小孩票價為10令吉、殘障人士免費和樂齡人士半價;國家動物園的入門票則為30令吉。

如果一切進展順利,園方計劃將原本每個環節最多150人的入館人數提高至160人,每個環節的參觀時間是20分鐘。

熊貓館在第一年內每個月的遊客流量可達4萬8千人次,而一年內可達50萬人次。

每批150人參觀20分鐘

訪客乘坐電車或步行至熊貓館後,首先在有蓋前廳排隊。為了使參觀大熊貓的過程更為順暢,訪客需分環節入館,個別環節限150人,有20分鐘的參觀時間。

一踏入館,訪客先進入學習中心,聆聽工作人員為熊貓館做簡單介紹。訪客可從該中心的落地玻璃一覽熊貓室內活動場全貌,同時可閱讀張掛在牆壁上的信息板,以及玩觸屏遊戲,以便在與鳳儀和福娃見面以前,對它們有基本的瞭解。

過後,訪客沿著學習中心的向下樓梯走到熊貓室內活動場的入口處。在正式與熊貓會面以前,工作人員會告知訪客參觀熊貓的規則。

訪客進入熊貓室內活動場後,首先見到的是“膽小鬼”鳳儀。訪客應避免在入口處止步拍照,以免造成阻塞。沿著步道趨前,訪客可在右手邊的花園看見“歌唱家”福娃。

20分鐘後,工作人員會催促訪客離開,前往紀念品商店及熊貓咖啡館。途中,訪客可從玻璃窗一窺食品配製室、獸醫室、恆溫室、實驗室和監控室裡的情形。

紀念品商店內的熊貓周邊產品琳瑯滿目,精緻可愛,訪客購買紀念品後可前往熊貓咖啡館休息,品嚐充滿熊貓特色的豆沙包、棒棒糖、曲奇餅和杯子蛋糕。

離開熊貓館之前,訪客會經過室外活動場,那是熊貓曬太陽的地方,不過大馬天氣炎熱,熊貓通常不會呆在那裡。

接著,訪客沿著走廊就會步出熊貓館,廊上一列皆是青、黃相間的仿竹設計支柱,為訪客的熊貓館之旅劃下句點。

Senheng “e-Waste Alam Alliance Recycling Program” Launching Ceremony

11th December 2013, Kuala Lumpur – The launching ceremony of the e-Waste Alam Alliance Recycling Program took place at Senheng’s Headquarter, Pandan Jaya this morning. Those in attendance for the official launch includes YB Dato’ Sri Dr. James Dawos Mamit, Timbalan Menteri Sumber Asli Dan Alam Sekitar, YB Dato’ Halimah Hassan, Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Alam Sekitar, Dr. Zulkifli bin Abdul Rahman, Timbalan Ketua Pengarah (Operasi) Jabatan Alam Sekitar, Mr B. Thinesh Kumar, Director of Shan Poornam Metal Sdn Bhd, and all representatives of different states from the local government.

 This successful implementation of the program is to enhance the public awareness towards the responsible e-waste disposal as the increasing growth of e-waste nowadays has contributed to a rapid build-up in the amount of e-waste contaminants in Malaysia landfills.  Meanwhile, the program tends to expand the development of authorised private-sector recycling infrastructure in order to ensure the toxic chemical in e-waste material will be properly dealt with and reduce the effect of contamination of e-waste.

新興電器沙巴修復樹林 2013

(沙巴24日訊)新興電器今日率領10名網路競賽優勝者,在沙巴拿篤烏魯西加瑪(Ulu Segama)森林保護區進行“種一棵樹”修復樹林計劃,為人猿及森林野生動物,重建棲息之地;新興也是大馬唯一贊助大馬世界自然基金會(WWF)的本地企業。

成功種植200棵樹苗

新興電器董事經理林金興在新聞發佈會上表示,新興是於2012年杪開始贊助上述占地46英畝的保護森林區,並成為目前唯一一家贊助該計劃的本地企業。

林金興也於今日親自帶隊進入森林,親手種下第一棵樹苗。一行人成功種植了200棵樹苗。

大馬世界自然基金會是於2008年獲得沙巴森林部的協助,將占地2千400英畝的北烏魯西加瑪森林劃,分成多個區,並陸續進行樹木種植活動。截至2012年杪,該計劃已成功種植了2千零58英畝的樹苗,希望能還原自然樹林的原貌,以期吸引人猿及野生動物重返森林。

人猿重返北烏魯什伽瑪森林區

參與上述修復樹林的10名網絡競賽優勝者,是於9月23日至10月6日期間參加新興主辦的“種一棵樹”面子書競賽勝出者。

沙巴森林部高級研究員王金龍在新聞發佈會上表示,這項計劃已將荒廢的北烏魯什伽瑪森林區,逐步恢復原貌,並被列為一級森林區。在各專員積極栽種樹苗,以及栽種適合人猿食用的野生果樹下,近年來也已開始發現人猿重返森林的足跡,這是令人鼓舞以及可喜的現象。

王金龍感激新興電器的加入,並表示會致力呵護所有樹苗,希望在6至7年後,能看見茁壯成長後的樹林。
